Summary:

The general impression of the course varied from Somewhat good to Very good. The courses difficulty level were considered to be Appropriate and the amount of work in relation to given credits were also considered Appropriate. The quality of the lectures varied from Somewhat good to Very good. The mandatory assignments were rated from Appropriate to High and the number of mandatory assignments were considered Appropriate. The importance of the assignments when it came to understanding and learning the curriculum was evaluated from Somewhat important to Very important and the amount of work assosiated with the mandatory assignments were considered Appropriate. The difficulty level of the project was considered Appropriate and was evaluated from Somewhat important to Important when it came to the importance of learning and understanding the curriculum. The amount of work related to the home project was considered Appropriate. The final exam was evaluated from Appropriate to Too high when it came to the difficulty level.

The respondents thought the curriculum contained interesting topics. Some respondents tought having a practical approach and guest lecturers was good. The majority of the respondents said the lecturers were badly structured and that screencast should be used. Presentation notes could have been better structured and were hard to understand. The mandatory assignments and the project contained difficult language and were not precise enough. Respondents had the same feeling towards the final exam. The exam had unclear elements and the respondents felt that it was hard to understand what the questions asked.

Kind of unclear what was relevant for the exam. Some questions on the exam seemed kind of random and just thrown in there, and didn’t seem central in the subject from the lectures.

Lots of guest lectures with lecturer coming from the industry. Lecture content is practical. Teacher are good as well.

About the course evaluation

The course evaluation is done by students in FUI (Fagutvalget ved Institutt for informatikk), and is based on questionnaires made at the end of each semester.
