Average answer: Neither good nor bad

Question: What do you think of the amount of work required in relation to a number of credits given?

Average answer: Appropriate

Question: What is your general impression of the quality of the lectures?

Average answer: Neither good nor bad

Summary:

Most of the respondents found this course Somewhat good to Somewhat bad and rated the general diffuculty level as Difficult to Appropriate. The amount of work was rated as Appropriate to Large in relation to the number of points given. The majority of the respondents rated the quality of the lectures as Somewhat good, with a significant minority rating it as Very bad to Somewhat bad.

The overall impression from the respondents is that the curriculum is up-to-date, but quite unstructured and that it is hard to get a general overview of the curriculum. There was discontent with bad general structure in the course, and most seems to prefer the use of piazza, rather than canvas.

Quotes:

Forelesningene var ganske vanskelige å henge med på pga, litt tung bruk av powerpoint slides, og lite intuitive forklaringer på neurale nettverk/CNN
Some lectures were too analytical/teoretical, reading from the slides/not very pedagocical, more concrete examples
Stort pluss for å henvise til Youtube-forelesningene til Stanford. Slikt er noe flere kurs bør gjøre. Alle trenger ikke finne opp kruttet på egen hånd. Pluss for gode gruppetimer! Skulle vært flere av de til litt mer varierte tider. Pluss for en bra eksamen

About the course evaluation

The course evaluation is done by students in FUI (Fagutvalget ved Institutt for informatikk), and is based on questionnaires made at the end of each semester.
