The overall impression of the course was that the curriculum was interesting, but too focused on Emerald. The lecturer was good and engaging, but there was a lack of structure in the slides and lectures. The mandatory assignments and home exam were considered good and educational, but the assignment texts were too vague. Feedback for the mandatory assignments and home exam was given late. Respondents wrote that the drawings made on the whiteboard were difficult to read even with a picture taken of them and added to the slides. The respondents considered Piazza to be a good resource, but the lack of answers from lecturers made the forum less usable. Respondents also wanted all lectures to be recorded.
Quotes:
Feedback was sometimes very late. [...] feedback for the first one right a couple of days before the deadline of home exam 2, and feedback for home exam 2 the day before the final exam.
Cool concepts. Hands-on programming course. Home-exams are good! Professor is obviously very intelligent and has a great understanding of what he is teaching. Has a evaluation at the end of the lecture, so that you can see if you found a particular subject more/less difficult than others in class.
