Industrial control systems are exposed to cyber threats which potentially can disrupt or damage physical processes and cause safety risks. A prominent example of cyber attack against an industrial control system was the Stuxnet attack against the uranium enrichment facility in Iran. This master project focuses on modelling cyber threats against industrial control systems in general, and in particular against gas turbines used for offshore energy production. Cyber attacks against gas turbines and the energy production on offshore platforms can have serious consequences for operations and for the safety of workers. This master project is part of the Digital Twin research project coordinated by SINTEF in Trondheim. The Digital Twin project focuses on simulating the physical processes in advanced offshore gas turbines to optimize their performance. A possible outcome of the master project is a simulation model for cyber attacks against this type of offshore energy production facility.
