Booking of NMR-instruments with BookitLab

Not everyone can book time slots to run nmr experiment manually on the instruments DPX500, AVI600 and AVIIIHD800. You must be an approved user with a high level of competence.  You must be pre-approved before booking any slots. If in any doubt send an e-mail to frode.rise(at)gmail.com and ask if you are allowed to use any of these instruments manually.

PLEASE GO TO https://bookitlab.uio.no/Login.aspx to book nmr instruments for manual use (Topspin). You do not need to book instruments running in walk up mode (Iconnmr).

Please observe that you must be approved as a nmr-user, based on your competence in operating advanced nmr-instruments, before you can use any nmr-instrument. Send an e-mail to sissel.jorgensen@kjemi.uio.no in order to start the process of becoming a user of the booking system.

Booking regulations:

Bruker DPX200 spectrometer. Weekdays: Over night experiments starts at 16.00 and ends at 08.00 the following day. Maximum booking time is one hour between 09.00 and 16.00 hours.  If no one has booked time in the period after you - when you have 5 minutes left of your time - you can book a new slot. On Saturdays, Sundays and official Holidays there are no booking restrictions. If you do not book a time slot in BookitLab before using the instrument and you are caught you might lose access to all nmr instruments.

Bruker DPX300 NMR spectrometer. Weekdays: Over night experiments starts at 16.00 and ends at 08.00 the following day. Maximum booking time is two hours between 09.00 and 16.00 hours.  If no one has booked time in the period after you - when you have 5 minutes left of your time - you can book a new slot.
On Saturdays, Sundays and official Holidays there are no booking restrictions.

If you do not book a time slot on the web before using the instrument and you are caught you will lose access to all nmr instruments for 90 days.

Bruker AVneo400, AVIIIHD400 and AVI600 nmr spectrometers when they are in ICONNMR automation: Only short 1H, 19F and 31P 1D experiments (up to 64 scans) are allowed during day time on the AVIIIHD400 nmr instrument.     2D nmr experiments and all 13C experiments is defined as night experiments. There is open access every day when the BACS-60 / SampleCase 24 sample changers/ICONNMR are in use on the 400 MHz  instruments. If someone is adding experiments and editing the experiment list in the ICONNMR program when you arrive in the lab you obviously have to wait until that person is finished. The AVneo400 instrument does not distinguish between day and night runs. It runs the samples as they are added in the ICONNMR queue.

The AVneo400 instrument will run continuously all the time as long as there are experiments in queue.   The instrument will run the experiments as they are added in the queue.

When using the Sample Case sample changer on the AVneo400 nmr instrument, or the BACS sample changer on the AVIIIHD400 nmr instrument or the AVI600 nmr  instrument you must remember to remove your samples and delete the entries in ICONNMR as soon as possible after the completion of the experiments.

Somewhat restricted access

On the nmr instruments DRX500, AVI600 (when not in Iconnmr mode) and AVIIIHD800 a higher level of understanding of the complexities of executing nmr experiments is needed. BookitLab is used for bookin,g but the individual user must be approved before being allowed to book these instruments for manual Topspin experiments.
