  • Bruker DPX 200. Walk up instrument used in manual mode with Topspin 1.3. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no. 
  • Bruker DPX 300. Walk up instrument used in manual mode with Topspin 1.3. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no.
  • Bruker Avance NEO 400 was installed in September 2021 with brand new electronics and a new magnet.  The new instrument is equipped with a sample changer with 24 positions for the nmr samples.  This will put strain on users to pick up their samples fast enough. The instrument will 99 % of the time run in IconNmr automation mode. Users are e-mailed automatically when an experiment is finished. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no.
  • Bruker AVIII HD 400 is equipped with a BACS-60 automatic sample changer. The instrument is 99 % of the time running in IconNmr automation mode. Users are e-mailed automatically when an experiment is finished. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no. The magnet in use at this instrument has previously contributed heavily to the science of Astra Zeneca in Södertälje. 
  • Bruker AVII 400 was decommissioned in September 2021. It was quipped with a BACS-120 automatic sample changer, now planned to be moved to the DRX 500 instrument if finances for a probe with automatic tuning and matching become available. The older* 400 MHz / 7 Tesla magnet is "mothballed" and ready to be moved to the Life Science building in 2025-202. A new electronics cabinet is needed. This magnet has previously been used by Norsk Hydro at Herøya. 
  • The 200 MHz and the 300 MHz instruments are used under open access and run manually by the software Topspin 1.3 patch level 10.  The two 400 MHz instruments are used under open access with the automation program IconNMR executing acquisitions with Topspin 3.2  and Topspin 4.X.

  • Bruker DRX 500. This instrument is used for all kinds of NMR spectrosopy except solid state applications. The instrument is currently only used in manual mode. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no. UiO has more than 10 different probes to this nmr instrument. The BACS sample changer from the recently decommissioned Bruker AVII 400 nmr instrument will be moved to the DRX 500 instrument if finances for a new probe with atma (automatic tuning and matching) is secured in 2021 or 2022. Then the instrument will mainly be run in ICONNMR automation mode.
  • Bruker AVI 600 is equipped with a TCI cryo probe  and a TXI probe with atma tuning and matching functionality and a BACS-60 sample changer. The instrument is used heavily for commercial experiments, metabolomics studies, brain metabolic studies as well as organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and natural substances NMR applications. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no.
  • Bruker AVII 600 is currently equipped with a TXI room temperature probe and a SampleCase sample changer with 24 holder positions. The use of the more sensitive (S/N) TCI cryo probe was discontinued in 2021 due to the high yearly service cost asked for by Bruker (180.000 NOK/year). Regretfully the TXI probe does not have automatic tuning and matching (ATMA) which severely limits the number of people capable or willing to use this instrument. The magnet is scheduled to be demagnetized in 2022 since the magnet is consuming too much helium. An attempt to pump the magnets vacuum chamber is performed in September 2021. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no.
  • The time slots on DRX 500, AVI 600 and AVII 600 instruments are distributed daily by submitting wishes to the NMR Center staff by e-mail.
  • Bruker AVIII HD 800 is equipped with a TCI cryo probe and a temperature adjustable SampleCase. All new data sets are automatically transferred to nmr-server02.uio.no.
  • Maran Ultra  http://www.mn.uio.no/kjemi/english/research/about/infrastructure/nmr-solid-state/maran-ultra.html 23 MHz (0.5 Tesla) instrument. The spectrometer is used for 1H - T1, T2 and T1rho studies (HR) and also used for diffusion studies.
