02 - 06 May 2022 the Norwegian research school DEEP offers an hybrid intensive PhD course of 5 ECTS credits on Solid Earth - Fluid Earth Interactions.

The everyday as a PhD candidate can be overwhelming. Doing a PhD is a great personal investment. It can be stressful handling deadlines, critical reviews and refusals, large scale projects and the feeling that it is all on our own shoulders. And how do you even know how you are doing?
We welcome you to this course to build resilience, self-understanding and how to utilize feedback in a fruitful way.

This course is intended to provide an overview on why it is important to disseminate your scientific results and how it can be successfully achieved. We will also highlight the diversity of channels and audiences by providing examples to: What is science communication? To whom are you trying to reach? And how can you go about this?

The Norwegian Research School DEEP offers 1 - 5 November 2021 an intensive course (5 ECTS) on the composition and evolution of the lithosphere and asthenosphere in Oslo with Profs. Valerie Maupin and Clint Conrad.

Join DEEP method course on MATLAB programming 25 - 28 October 2021. Valentina Magni and Ágnes Király from CEED, UiO, will teach you all you want and need to know about Matlab to get started, work efficiently and succeed with your programming.

October 2021 we will offer an intensive DEEP course (5 ECTS) on "Earth Magnetism and Paleogeography" (GEO-DEEP9501). If you are interested in joining the course please save the dates October 4- 8, 2021.

In May 2021 we will offer an intensive DEEP course (5 ECTS) on Mineralogy of planetary surfaces and biosignatures. If you are interested in joining the course please save the dates May 10 - 14 2021. Morning lectures and afternoon sessions with student presentations and discussions. All online.

Computer programming is a core skill for geophysicists. The overall goal of GEOV350 is to provide the students with a good understanding of computational geodynamics. The course will be taught one week in May 2021 if they get enough participants, so please register your interest within 15 December 2020 if you wish to take the course!

26 - 30 October 2020 we invite you to join an online, intensive DEEP course (5 ECTS) to learn about planetary physics and global tectonics. Stephanie Werner is responsible for the course, and she invites seven young researchers from CEED to teach: Mathew Domeier, Tobias Rolf, Maëlis Arnould, Fabio Crameri, Valentina Magni, Grace Shephard and Agnes Kiraly.

This autumn (Week 42-44), DEEP will collaborate once more with Mathew (who several of you know from his writing courses/retreats) to provide a virtual space for you to meet up and talk about your writing. The point of this virtual writing retreat is to create a community for everyone in a writing process, to improve your writing skills, and to motivate each other to write and be more efficient.

17 - 21 August 2020 we invite you to join an online, intensive DEEP course (5 ECTS) to learn about small bodies in the solar system. The course will be taught by Jane Luu, Ingrid Mann, Ramon Brasser, Nils Prieur and Stephanie Werner.
