ERC Start Grant "DrugsInPregnancy"

Medication prescribed during pregnancy may play an unrecognized role in the development of neurodevelopmental disorders. In this project we have the unique opportunity to use several population-based registries and a population-based birth cohort including over 100,000 mother-child pairs and biological data (DNA samples) to study how medications may act on the offspring. This possibility offers novel pharmaceutical insight into the safety of medications.

The aim of the project is to provide the evidence base for important clinical decisions: whether to treat a perinatal psychiatric disorder or no. It will also facilitate women empowerment in developing an evidence-based understanding of the benefits and risks of perinatal use of antidepressants.

DRUG-TRIAD

The aim of the project is to establish the contribution of drug exposure in mother-father-child triads on later cardio-metabolic dysfunctions in children and youth.

COVID-19 projects

We are involved in several international research project focusing on treatment of COVID-19, and medication use.

Vac4EU

This study's purpose is to conduct active surveillance post-conditional approval for people receiving COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. This project focuses on mapping whether there is an increased risk of side effects across the European population and in special population groups, such as pregnant women.

EU-COVID-19

A multinational registry- based linkage study with focus on risk and protective factors, clinical outcomes and mental health". The aim of this international interdisciplinary project is to provide knowledge about the populations’ risk factors and health consequences of COVID-19.

Nordic COHERENCE

The project will establish an internationally unique multi-country database network with data from healthcare registers in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Scotland. The database will cover health information for 25 million individuals, with the purpose of conducting epidemiological studies on Covid-19.

VERDI

The project prioritizes women and children in the research on new coronavirus variants. The Department of Pharmacy, University of Oslo, is contributing to the project with data from the Norwegian Health Registries.

MinSafeStart

The aim of the project is to investigate whether a patient centered app can reduce symptoms of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, and provide a better quality of life.

Finalized Projects:

CONSIGN – Covid-19 infectiOn aNd medicineS In pregnancy

The aim of this project is to provide adequate data on the impact of COVID-19 in pregnancy to guide decision-making about vaccine indications, vaccination policies, and treatment options for COVID-19 disease and associated complications.

ACCESS

The goal is to establish a European infrastructure prepared for the monitoring of the COVID-19 vaccines and for conducting specific studies, and to provide documented information about the feasibility to address different outcomes: coverage, safety and effectiveness.

COVID-19 survey pregnant and lactating women

In collaboration with researchers from several European countries, the aim is to investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pregnant and lactating women.
