Åshild Maria Eftevåg is the new Head of Office

Åshild Maria Eftevåg is the new Head of Office at the Department of Biosciences. She started in the position September 5, and comes from the research center NORMENT, where she was administrative manager.

Exciting leadership experience

Åshild Maria Eftevåg is cand.philol. from the University of Oslo, with French as a major, and intermediate in public law and Dutch. She also has a management education from the Norwegian Business School BI.

Eftevåg comes from the Faculty of Medicine and the position of administrative manager of NORMENT, which is a center for excellent research on mental disorders. Prior to coming to the University of Oslo, she worked as assistant principal, High school/college teacher and held various administrative positions in the private business, public sector and organizational life.

Leadership change in September

Åshild Maria Eftevåg was appointed new head of department at the institute on September 5, replacing Maren Rasch Onsrud, who retires at the end of September. Eftevåg applied for this position because she is genuinely interested in contributing to good administrative support for research and education.

Together to provide high quality services

It is important for Åshild Maria Eftevåg that everyone who works technically/administratively sees it as their job to provide the best possible services to the core business of IBV, which is research and education, and that technical / administrative staff is considered an important contributor to the department's end products.

- I feel that the technical/administrative staff at the institute are of the same opinion as me and that they provide high quality services, says Åshild.

Åshild Maria Eftevåg wants to help the staff to continue this good work, while at the same time working together for continuous improvement.

- I want to be available and hope that the emplyees will feel that there is a low threshold to have a good chat, says Åshild.

Finally, Åshild Maria Eftevåg wishes to thank everybody for the warm welcome she has received as the new Head of Office at the Department of Biosciences, and looks forward to working with new colleagues.
