A Nordic network of imaging nodes, "Bridging Nordic Microscopy Infrastructures", BNMI has been awarded NOK 2.5 million from NordForsk. The NordForsk Nordic Research Infrastructure Hubs aims to strengthen international competitiveness, and to facilitate the development of world-leading Nordic Research Infrastructure environments in the Nordic countries.
Professor Oddmund Bakke at IBV is the project manager for BNMI, which consists of nodes in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland. BNMI will hold workshops, seminars and support mobility between Nordic nodes and users. Oddmund Bakke is the head of the EuroBioImaging (EuBI) node, NorMIC Oslo. NorMIC Oslo is a combined infrastructure at the Department of Biosciences, UiO and at the Oslo University hospital. The Norforsk support is also to connect Nordic imaging users to the EuBI.
