Kjetil Lysne Voje has been awarded 1.5 million Euros in research grants from the European Research Council (ERC). He will take a closer look at how changes in the evolution of species occur over time.

The Research Council of Norway (NFR) has funded two projects from the Department. The projects are EcoForest and #AgriDeer. Head of EcoForest is Håvard Kauserud, and head of #AgriDeer is Atle Mysterud.
The Nordic network of imaging platforms, Bridging Nordic Microscopy Infrastructures BNMI, has been awarded NOK 2.5 million from NordForsk. The Norwegian coordinating node in this network is NorMIC Oslo, an infrastructure at the Department of Biosciences, UiO.

The student team representing the University of Oslo at the iGEM annual synthetic biology competition, has presented their project “Sal. coli”. It is the only team from Norway this year, consisting of: Alexander Refsnes-Petkovic, Jonas Aouay Grønbakken and Martin Eide.
