About the microbial ecology group
Microorganisms shape the physical, chemical, and biological state of our planet by facilitating the storage, transport, and turnover of key elements. These activities are key to climate and life’s well-being. In our work, we develop approaches, theories, and models that integrate microbial influence in the context of biogeochemical, ecosystem, climatic processes, and microbial interactions with macroscopic life.
