Ecological network of microbes
We study processes involved in speciation among microbes by comparing biogeographic distribution and phylogenetic patterning of habitat colonization events. Microbial diversity and functioning of microbial communities is central themes in our research, and are currently been studied in natural habitats and in systems used for biogas production and crop growth. We use high throughput sequencing, single cell genomics and computational network analyses to assemble ecological interactions in microbial communities.
