Industrial digitalisation for project management (PM) is a promising strategy for organising knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to successfully complete projects. However, system information modelling (SIM), as a key approach that enables the digitalisation of industrial systems, is often applied separately without a PM context. This situation results in fragmentation of project information and hinders collaboration among stakeholders. Limited research has explored on integrating SIM technologies and PM principles. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes IMF-PM, a SIM methodology that integrates the Information Modelling Framework (IMF) with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards for digitalisation in the context of cross-disciplinary project collaboration. IMF-PM provides an engineer-friendly, multi-aspect language that enables cross-disciplinary modelling within a unified framework, while also supporting Resource Description Framework (RDF) serialisation for digitalisation. We present an industrial case study of a gas cooling system, providing exploratory practical evidence of function-implementation consistency and non-destructive integration. The case study and comparative analysis provide exploratory evidence of the practical utility of IMF-PM for interdisciplinary coordination, traceability, and project information integration in cross-disciplinary industrial projects. This research provides a new paradigm for project information digitalisation in the industry.

The digital transformation of engineering systems demands scalable and precise identifier management. Information about a single asset is often fragmented across numerous systems and organizational boundaries, with each context using its own identifiers. This paper addresses this challenge by introducing a formal framework for semantic reference. We build on prior work by introducing two key concepts: reference contexts, which formalize the boundary conditions for identifier interpretation, and public models, which serve as curated, shared layers for anchoring reference. We define reference equality as the symmetric, transitive closure over typed proxy relations that link identifiers across these contexts. Finally, we demonstrate how this semantic infrastructure provides a foundational component for a new generation of industrial systems, including providing essential grounding for Large Language Model (LLM) workflows. This approach bridges the gap between human-readable descriptors and machine-readable identifiers, aligns with modern architectural principles like Data Mesh, and supports hybrid reasoning in industrial knowledge systems.

In the context of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, project management (PM) and system information modelling (SIM) are two key approaches for managing complex, crossdisciplinary industrial systems. However, these approaches are often applied separately, and limited research has explored their integration. To bridge this gap, this paper proposes the IMF-PM methodology, integrating the Information Modelling Framework (IMF) with the PMBOK project management standard, to enable structured, and model-based project management. IMF-PM features an engineer-friendly, multi-aspect modelling language that captures product, function, and attribute information across disciplines. Its simple yet expressive elements enable engineers from different disciplines to model systems within a unified framework, promoting interoperability and collaboration. Additionally, the method supports semantic serialisation into RDF triples, enhancing digitalisation and supporting the creation of digital twins of real-world systems. The approach is demonstrated through a real-world use case on designing a high-temperature gas cooling system and compared against alternative methods to highlight its practical advantages.

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) plays an essential role in mitigating climate change. A comprehensive CO2
storage analysis is key to CCS success, however, its advancement is hindered by interdisciplinary complexities,
data fragmentation, and the need for enhanced transparency. This paper presents ongoing work in an integrated
digitalisation framework for CO2 storage analysis that addresses three major challenges: knowledge complexity
across geosciences, reservoir engineering, and computer science; the heterogeneous, multi-scale nature of
geological data; and the requirement for explainable decision-making in high-risk subsurface storage scenarios.
Our approach leverages both symbolic AI and generative AI. On the symbolic AI side, it includes ontologydriven knowledge engineering to harmonise domain-specific terminologies, and employs a layered information
modelling and data integration system to standardise diverse datasets. Additionally, a generative AI-powered
query and explanation system provides context-aware, transparent analyses. This framework aims to streamline
multidisciplinary collaboration and enhance the accountability and reliability of long-term CO2 storage, thereby
supporting the transition to a carbon-neutral future

AI holds great promise for industrial applications, but its complexity and opacity can hinder trust and limit adoption, particularly in high-stakes sectors, where transparency and accountability are essential. Question Answering with Explanation (QAE) helps address this challenge by enabling natural interaction with AI and providing justifications that allow users to assess, verify, and better understand AI-generated answers, thus improving perceived credibility. However, despite its clear benefits, QAE remains underexplored in industrial contexts. To address this gap, we employ a user-centric framework for QAE, and study it in system information modelling (SIM), a realistic and valuable industrial use case spanning disciplines, lifecycle stages, and downstream engineering tasks. Our framework integrates retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), with instruction, chain-of-thought, and few-shot prompting to guide LLMs in producing reasoning-rich explanations, and incorporates both automatic and user-perspective human evaluation. Extensive experiments on PDF and RDF datasets covering five key SIM topics demonstrate near-human-level performance. Case studies further illustrate our strengths in delivering strong argumentation, contextual evidence, and complex reasoning chains.

The digital and green transition under Industry 4.0 has accelerated the adoption of AI in industries such as manufacturing, energy, and mining. Question Answering with Explanation (QAE), as a way of human interaction with AI, is crucial for enhancing transparency and trust in high-stakes industrial applications. However, industrial QAE remains underexplored due to the lack of publicly available, high-quality datasets, hindered by the need for expert effort and corporate restrictions. To this end, we introduce PANDAX ( https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14510798 ), the first open-source industrial QAE dataset, and SEG, a scalable method for generating high-quality QAE datasets using LLMs. PANDAX focuses on three key topics of industrial system information: partonomy, functionality, and parameters, across critical domains such as green technology and cooling systems. SEG ensures scalability and quality through ensemble generation, majority voting, expert ranking, etc. The human evaluation validates PANDAX's high quality, positioning it as a valuable resource for advancing QAE techniques, benchmarking language technologies, and supporting research in explainable AI for industrial systems.

Knowledge Graph Embedding (KGE) has attracted increasing attention. Relation patterns, such as symmetry and inversion, have received considerable focus. Among them, composition patterns are particularly important, as they involve nearly all relations in KGs. However, prior KGE approaches often consider relations to be compositional only if they are well-represented in the training data. Consequently, it can lead to performance degradation, especially for under-represented composition patterns. To this end, we propose HolmE, a general form of KGE with its relation embedding space closed under composition, namely that the composition of any two given relation embeddings remains within the embedding space. This property ensures that every relation embedding can compose, or be composed by other relation embeddings. It enhances HolmE’s capability to model under-represented (also called long-tail) composition patterns with limited learning instances. To our best knowledge, our work is pioneering in discussing KGE with this property of being closed under composition. We provide detailed theoretical proof and extensive experiments to demonstrate the notable advantages of HolmE in modelling composition patterns, particularly for long-tail patterns. Our results also highlight HolmE’s effectiveness in extrapolating to unseen relations through composition and its state-of-the-art performance on benchmark datasets.

The petroleum industry is crucial for modern society, but the production process is complex and risky. During the production, accidents or failures, resulting from undesired production events, can cause severe environmental and economic damage. Previous studies have investigated machine learning (ML) methods for undesired event detection. However, the prediction of event probability in real-time was insufficiently addressed, which is essential since it is important to undertake early intervention when an event is expected to happen. This paper proposes two ML approaches, random forests and temporal convolutional networks, to detect undesired events in real-time. Results show that our approaches can effectively classify event types and predict the probability of their appearance, addressing the challenges uncovered in previous studies and providing a more effective solution for failure event management during the production.

The on-going twin transition demands that the continuous process industry builds and operates their facilities in a more sustainable way. This change affects the entire supply-chain. The market demands new ways of engineering, procuring and constructing plants that assure quality at each step of the process. Petroleum and petrochemical producers must reduce their waste and environmental footprint and find ways of migrating to sustainable production. There is zero tolerance for waste, emissions or process malfunctions. Engineering contractors need to transfer their skills to new processes and produce series, non-custom facilities for new applications like offshore wind energy, modular production and industrial symbiosis. This is leading to a convergence in methods with discrete manufacturing, especially the automotive industries. In this climate, this sector can benefit from applying Zero-defect Manufacturing (ZDM) to both engineering design and operations. This work defines a framework for implementing ZDM in the process industry supply chain. The framework brings together modelling techniques and models from the following disciplines: system engineering, computer-aided process engineering, automation (especially Industry 4.0) and semantic technologies. These contributions are synthesised into an information fabric that allows engineering firms to work in new ways. Operators and contractors can use the fabric to move from document-driven engineering to data-based processes. The fabric captures requirements and intent in design so that facilities can be delivered and started-up and operated with zero defects in the design and construction. The information is also a vital support for safe and efficient operations and maintenance. We call this zero-defect O&M. The framework combines a systems engineering break-down of facilities, based on ISO/IEC81346, with implementation in SysML, with semantic interoperability frameworks from the process industries (ISO15926). We build upon and synthesise the results of recent standardization initiatives from the industry, notably CFIHOS, DEXPI and READI. We draw on results from process systems engineering, the OntoCAPE ontology and the CAPE-OPEN standards. The framework is illustrated by application to a non-proprietary process system, namely the Tennessee-Eastman process. This example is used to show the modelling approach and indicate how the fabric supports zero-defect practices.

Monitoring of the state, performance, quality of operations and other parameters of equipment and production processes, which is typically referred to as condition monitoring, is an important common practice in many industries including manufacturing, oil and gas, chemical and process industry. In the age of Industry 4.0, where the aim is a deep degree of production automation, unprecedented amounts of data are generated by equipment and processes, and this enables adoption of Machine Learning (ML) approaches for condition monitoring. Development of such ML models is challenging. On the one hand, it requires collaborative work of experts from different areas, including data scientists, engineers, process experts, and managers with asymmetric backgrounds. On the other hand, there is high variety and diversity of data relevant for condition monitoring. Both factors hampers ML modelling for condition monitoring. In this work, we address these challenges by empowering ML-based condition monitoring with semantic technologies. To this end we propose a software system SemML that allows to reuse and generalise ML pipelines for conditions monitoring by relying on semantics. In particular, SemML has several novel components and relies on ontologies and ontology templates for ML task negotiation and for data and ML feature annotation. SemML also allows to instantiate parametrised ML pipelines by semantic annotation of industrial data. With SemML, users do not need to dive into data and ML scripts when new datasets of a studied application scenario arrive. They only need to annotate data and then ML models will be constructed through the combination of semantic reasoning and ML modules. We demonstrate the benefits of SemML on a Bosch use-case of electric resistance welding with very promising results.

The competitiveness of modern enterprises heavily depends on their ability to make the right business decisions by relying on efficient and timely analysis of the right business critical data. In large and data intensive companies such as Equinor, a Norwegian multinational oil and gas company with more than 20,000 employees, gathering such data is not a trivial task due to the growing size and complexity of corporate information sources. As a result, the data gathering task is often the most time-consuming part of the decision making process, in particular when it comes to the work processes of Equinor’s Exploration geologists that should find in a timely manner New exploitable accumulations of oil or gas in given areas by analysing data about these areas. In this work we present our experience in addressing this data challenge tast at Equinor. We have developed and deployed at Equinor a semantic data access system that relies on the Ontology Based Data Access (OBDA) approach. Our system is based on our solid theoretical contributions and has been extensively evaluated at Equinor

Knowledge Graphs have recently gained a lot of attention and have been successfully applied in both academia and industry. Since KGs may be very large: they may contain millions of entities and triples relating them to each other, to classes, and assigning them data values, it is important to provide endusers with effective tools to explore information encapsulated in KGs. In this work we present a visual query system that allows users to explore KGs by intuitively constructing tree-shaped conjunctive queries. It is known that systems of this kind suffer from the problem of information overflow: when constructing a query the users have to iteratively choose from a potentially very long list of options, sich as, entities, classes, and data values, where each such choice corresponds to an extension of the query new filters. In order to address this problem we propose an approach to substantially reduce such lists with the help of ranking and by eliminating the so-called deadends, options that yield queries with no answers over a given KG.

The digital twin offers a potentially powerful way of using simulation to support business and change the way industrial operations are done. The idea of the
digital twin is not new but recent changes in information technology make implementation of digital twins a natural next step in the application of simulation technologies. Simulation practitioners will find that their models are increasingly embedded in complex systems that combine simulations with operational data to solve a business problem. However, the successful adoption of this approach is
challenging. This paper asks the question: “How can digital twins be made sustainable, maintainable and useful?”. We focus primarily on the development of
twins in the oil and gas industry. Most academic work in this area has been done in the manufacturing industries. We review this literature and propose a simple model of digital twins. This allows us to identify challenges with current implementations and propose a research agenda that will allow future twins to be sustainable, maintainable and usable.

We present a description and analysis of the data access challenge in Siemens Energy. We advocate Ontology Based Data Access (OBDA) as a suitable Semantic Web driven technology to address the challenge. We derive requirements for applying OBDA in Siemens, review existing OBDA systems and discuss their limitations with respect to the Siemens requirements. We then introduce the Optique platform as a suitable OBDA solution for Siemens. The platform is based on a number of novel techniques and components including a deployment module, BootOX for ontology and mapping bootstrapping, a query language STARQL that allows for a uniform querying of both streaming and static data, a highly optimised backend, ExaStream, for processing such data, and a query formulation interface, OptiqueVQS, that allows to formulate STARQL queries without prior knowledge of its formal syntax. Finally, we describe our installation and evaluation of the platform in Siemens.

Ontology Based Data Access (OBDA) is a prominent approach to query databases which uses an ontology to expose data in a conceptually clear manner by abstracting away from the technical schema-level details of the underlying data. The ontology is ‘connected’ to the data via mappings that allow to automatically translate queries posed over the ontology into data-level queries that can be executed by the underlying database management system. Despite a lot of attention from the research community, there are still few instances of real world industrial use of OBDA systems. In this work we present data access challenges in the data-intensive petroleum company Statoil and our experience in addressing these challenges with OBDA technology. In particular, we have developed a deployment module to create ontologies and mappings from relational databases in a semi-automatic fashion; a query processing module to perform and optimise the process of translating ontological queries into data queries and their execution over either a single DB of federated DBs; and a query formulation module to support query construction for engineers with a limited IT background. Our modules have been integrated in one OBDA system, deployed at Statoil, integrated with Statoil’s infrastructure, and evaluated with Statoil’s engineers and data.

Background The disease and phenotype track was designed to evaluate the relative performance of ontology matching systems that generate mappings between source ontologies. Disease and phenotype ontologies are important for applications such as data mining, data integration and knowledge management to support translational science in drug discovery and understanding the genetics of disease. Results Eleven systems (out of 21 OAEI participating systems) were able to cope with at least one of the tasks in the Disease and Phenotype track. AML, FCA-Map, LogMap(Bio) and PhenoMF systems produced the top results for ontology matching in comparison to consensus alignments. The results against manually curated mappings proved to be more difficult most likely because these mapping sets comprised mostly subsumption relationships rather than equivalence. Manual assessment of unique equivalence mappings showed that AML, LogMap(Bio) and PhenoMF systems have the highest precision results. Conclusions Four systems gave the highest performance for matching disease and phenotype ontologies. These systems coped well with the detection of equivalence matches, but struggled to detect semantic similarity. This deserves more attention in the future development of ontology matching systems. The findings of this evaluation show that such systems could help to automate equivalence matching in the workflow of curators, who maintain ontology mapping services in numerous domains such as disease and phenotype.

Overall, the industry is currently transitioning
from mere data collection practices
to more proactive uses of data, especially in
the operations area. Positive economical impacts
associated with the use of big data
comprise data generation and data analytics
business models, commercial partnerships
around data, and the embracement of open
data by the Norwegian regulator. On the
negative side there are concerns regarding
the future of existing business models and
the reluctance of oil companies to share
data. Positive social and ethical impacts include
mitigation of safety and environment
concerns with big data, personal privacy not
really a problem, and creation of new jobs
for data scientists; on the other hand cyberthreats
are becoming a serious concern and
there are trust issues with data.

With the emergence of the Web of Data, there is a need of tools for searching and exploring the growing amount of semantic data. Unfortunately, such tools are scarce and typically require knowledge of SPARQL/RDF. We propose here PepeSearch, a portable tool for searching semantic datasets devised for mainstream users. PepeSearch offers a multi-class search form automatically constructed from a SPARQL endpoint. We have tested PepeSearch with 15 participants searching a Linked Open Data version of the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises for non-trivial challenges. Retrieval performance was encouragingly high and usability ratings were also very positive, thus suggesting that PepeSearch is effective for searching semantic datasets by mainstream users. We also assessed its portability by configuring PepeSearch to query other SPARQL endpoints.

The preparation of existing real-world datasets for publication as high-quality semantic web data is a complex task that requires the concerted execution of a variety of processing steps using a range of different tools. Faced with both changing input data and evolving requirements on the produced output, we face a significant engineering task for schema and data transformation. We argue that to achieve a robust and flexible transformation process, a high-level declarative description is needed, that can be used to drive the entire tool chain. We have implemented this idea for the deployment of ontology-based data access (OBDA) solutions, where semantically annotated views that integrate multiple data sources on different formats are created, based on an ontology and a collection of mappings. Furthermore, we exemplify our approach and show how a single declarative description helps to orchestrate a complete tool chain, beginning with the download of datasets, and through to the installation of the datasets for a variety of tool applications, including data and query transformation processes and reasoning services. Our case study is based on several publicly available tabular and relational datasets concerning the operations of the petroleum industry in Norway. We include a discussion of the relative performance of the used tools on our case study, and an overview of lessons learnt for practical deployment of OBDA on real-world datasets.

The variable splitting method for free-variable tableau calculi provides an admissibility condition under which the same free variables can be assigned values independently on different branches. While this has a large potential for automated proof search, a direct implementation of this condition is impractical. We adapt the incremental closure framework for free variables to variable splitting tableaux by recasting the admissibility condition for closing substitutions into a constraint satisfaction problem. The resulting mechanism allows to check the existence of an admissible closing substitution incrementally during the construction of a proof. We specify a rule-based algorithm for testing satisfiability of constraints that accounts for split variables, and present experimental results based on a prototype variable splitting theorem prover implementation measuring the computational overhead of the variable splitting framework.

The paper introduces a free variable, labelled proof system for intuitionistic propositional logic with variable splitting. In this system proofs can be found without backtracking over rules by generating a single, uniform derivation. We prove soundness, introduce a construction that extracts finite countermodels from unprovable sequents, and formulate a branchwise termination condition. This is the first proof system for intuitionistic propositional logic that admits goal-directed search procedures without compromising proof lengths, compared to corresponding tableau calculi.

A new logic of belief (in the "only knowing" family) with confidence levels is presented. The logic allows a natural distinction between explicit and implicit belief representations, where the explicit form directly expresses its models. The explicit form can be found by applying a set of equivalence preserving rewriting rules to the implicit form. The rewriting process is performed entirely within the logic, on the object level, provided we supply an explicit formalization of the logical space. We prove that the problem of deciding whether there exists a consistent explicit form is -complete, a complexity class to which many problems of nonmonotonic reasoning belong. The article also contains a conceptual analysis of basic notions like belief, co-belief and degrees of confidence.

We present a weak multi-agent system of Only knowing and an analysis of the logical spaces that can be defined in it. The logic complements the approach to generalizing Levesque's All I Know system made by Halpern and Lakemeyer. A novel feature of our approach is that the logic is defined entirely at the object level with no reference to meta-concepts in the definition of the axiom system. We show that the logic of Halpern and Lakemeyer can be encoded in our system in the form of a particular logical space.

We present a framework for reasoning about trustworthiness, with application to conflict resolution and belief formation at various degrees of reliability. On the basis of an assignment of relative trustworthiness to sets of information sources, a lattice of degrees of trustworthiness is constrructed; from this, a priority structure is derived and applied to the problem of forming the right opinion in the presence of possibly conflicting information. Consolidated with an unquestioned knowledge base, this provides an unambiguous account of what an agent should believe, conditionally on which information sources are trusted. Applications in multi-agent doxastic logic are sketched.

We present a method for trust scenarios with more than one trustee, where sets of trustees are ordered in a relation of relative trustworthiness. We show how a priority structure implicit in a trust relation can be made fully explicit by means of a lattice and how a system of default expectations arises from a systematic interpretation. The default structure lends itself to formal interpretation, but is independent of a particular logical language. The theory is designed to directly extend the analysis of the concept of trust given by Andrew Jones.

The main construction in this paper is an encoding of default logic into an ``only knowing'' logic with degrees of confidence. By imposing simple and natural constraints on the encoding we show that the ``only knowing'' logic can accommodate ordered default theories and that the constrained encoding implements a prescriptive interpretation of preference between defaults. An advantage of the encoding is that it provides a transparent formal rendition of such a semantics. A feature of the construction is that the generation of extensions can be carried out within the ``only knowing'' logic, using object level concepts alone.

This paper presents a Kripke semantics for a multi-agent generalization of Levesque's logic of ``only knowing''. We prove soundness and completeness and show that the logic has the finite model property. In addition we prove a Modal reduction theorem which states that complex syntactical representations can be syntactically reduced to a provably equivalent form which directly reflects all the models of the representation.

Using the Industry Collaboration Canvas in the Mid-Term Review. Experience in applying the framework in the oil and gas industry.

The SIRIUS Centre for Scalable Data Access in the Oil and Gas Domain is funded by the Research Council of Norway and hosted by the University of Oslo. It pursues fundamental research that drives innovations related to digitalisation of the oil & gas industry. The centre consists of researchers from four institutions (University of Oslo, NTNU, Simula Research Centre and University of Oxford) and fourteen companies in the oil and gas supply chain. It is funded for eight years from 2015 and is now undergoing a mid-term review that assesses the centre’s progress and determines whether it will be funded for its full term.
To prepare for the review, it was necessary to have a structured discussion with each industrial partner. This was done to determine how successful the partnership had been to date, see if any changes needed to be made and sketch a plan for the last half of the centre’s life. The assessment required a tool that was simple to use, easy to understand and flexible. We chose to use the Industry Collaboration Canvas of Frølund, Murray and Riedel (2018). This paper describes the process and results of this work, from the perspective of the centre management and two of the larger partner companies, Equinor and TechnipFMC.
Two workers were trained in the use of the canvas in March 2018. The process was explained to the partners at the centre’s general assembly and it was agreed that we would conduct these workshops. The workshops were then held in the second half of 2018. SIRIUS management visited each partner’s site to hold the meeting. However, in some cases, videoconferencing had to be used due to the geographical factors.
The use of the canvas was considered to be successful. Feedback from all participants was positive and the information gathered provided factual material for preparing the documents needed for the mid-term re-view. In all cases, we identified concrete actions that will improve the value of collaboration between the researchers and each industrial partner. The canvas identified gaps and potential problems for collaboration. In these cases we were able to agree on necessary corrective actions. The canvas is now shared between centre management and the partner and is a de-facto agreement on how the partnership will continue over the next 5 years.
The canvas is an effective and powerful tool for assessing and planning interactions between researchers and industrial companies. It is simple to use, easy to understand and brings rigour and structure to the discussions around current and new collaborations. We are actively promoting the use of this tool in other parts of the University.

Digital Twins as a Platform For Artificial Intelligence in the Petroleum Supply Chain.
Fulltekst i vitenarkiv

The digital twin offers a potentially powerful way of using simulation to support business and change the way field development and petroleum operations are done. The concept is hyped, being at the very top of the Gartner hype curve. The idea of the digital twin is also not new in the petroleum and process industries. We have been building simulations and linking them to design and operational data for as long as computers have been used. However recent changes in information technology make implementation of digital twins a natural next step in the application of analytical methods of all types to problems in the petroleum supply chain. We argue that a well-structured digital twin is essential for the scalable, effective implementation of artificial intelligence.
Digital twins are complex systems that combine simulations with design and operational data to solve a business problem. However, the successful adoption of this approach is challenging. We need to answer the question: “How can digital twins be made sustainable, maintainable and useful?”. We focus here on the development of twins in the oil and gas industry. Most academic work in this area has been done in the manufacturing industries. We review this literature and propose a simple model of digital twins. This allows us to identify challenges with current implementations and propose a research agenda that will allow future twins to be sustainable, maintainable and usable.
We believe that such a digital twin will need the development and use of a semantic backbone – an application-independent description of the facility of system to be twinned. This back-bone consists of several elements. The first is an asset model that describes the facility, how it is built up and what it is made of. The second element is a set of requirements, that captures the purpose of the facility and tracks the compliance of the facility with these requirements. Third, we need to model the lifecycle of the facility, allowing for an asset model and its requirements to evolve from conceptual design, through engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning, to operation, maintenance & decommissioning. This structuring of data and information provides a secure, scalable and foundation for all types of AI application.
This paper presents examples of each of these types of semantic model. We also describe our plans for developing a new best practice for digital twins in collaboration with leading oil companies.

We present a new approach to the logic of \emph{at most}, introducing the notion of \emph{parametric propositions} to modal natural deduction proofs. We apply the method with a natural deduction formulation of the doxastic logic \natded, a new system in the ``only knowing'' family. Using parametric proof rules, we give introduction and elimination rules for belief \emph{at most} that directly match the natural second-order formulation of the concept. \natded is sound and complete with respect to the class of intended models. We conjecture that it weakly normalizes and that it satisfies the subformula property.

Various multi-modal systems are proposed for the representation of belief states in a multi-agent context. We introduce sequent calculi for these systems and prove cut-elimination results. A corollary to these results is that a new and naturalmulti-modal extension of Levesque's system of only knowing is consistent.
