Improving ultrasound images using post processing
All ultrasound manufactures use post processing to create glossy images. The thesis will implement methods as a postprocessing step in the UltraSound ToolBox (USTB) in order to improve the visual apperance of images collected using our research scanner.
This thesis will do a literature study on different image post processing techniques for ultrasound imaging. Some of these techniques will be implmented in USTB. Examples of techniques to look into are
- Spatial filtering between image "frames".
- Speckle filtering
- Clutter filtering
