Technical Unit

A modern research and teaching facility cannot operate properly without strong administrative and technical support functions.

The Department of Chemistry must have well-functioning workshops, technical assistance in the auditoriums, for major equipment installations and in the teaching laboratories.  The workshops in the Department of Chemistry include electronics, mechanics and glass-blowing. Ordering and purchasing of chemicals and equipment, as well as storage of the most common chemicals, are assigned to the Chemical Central Storage.

The Electronics Laboratory

The electronics laboratory develops and builds electronic instrumentation for the department's research environments.

IT Services

Develops and maintains the net and computers and offers assistance and guidance for employees.

The Chemical Central Storage

Ordering and purchasing of chemicals and equipment, as well as storage of the most common chemicals, are assigned to the Chemical Central Storage.

The Teaching Laboratories

The laboratory group is responsible for the technical operation of courses at the teaching laboratories and prepares the laboratories for forthcoming teaching.

The Instrument Workshop and the Glassblowing Workshop

The Department has experts in the field of precision mechanics and ancillary fields. We are also fortunate to have our own glassblowing workshop for production and repairs of glass equipment. The Instrument Workshop has been merged with the Physics Department, and reside in the Physics building.

As to the Glasblowing Workshop see the web pages for more information.
