Danmarks Tekniske Universitet

Juan explains:

Kasia, Malte and I went to the summer school in Entrepreneurship in Technical Science organized by DTU in Holbæk (Denmark). We were divided in 6 groups, and every group came out with an idea about a high-tech product to develop along the week. Kasia and Malte were together working on "microchips for TEM measurements" and I was in a group developing "microbatteries for hearing aid devices". Along the week, we had lectures in the morning for example on bussines models, start-ups creation, patents, market studies, analysis of customers, competitors, commercialization planning, funding or even pitching our ideas... In the afternoon, we were working in groups and preparing a presentation about the topic of the day, and afterwards, we were having talks from experts in the high-tech start-up world who were coming to share with us their experiences. The last day, Saturday, we had a pitching competition with the work done during the week, and a jury formed by the represenatives of DTU fotonik, DTU energy and DTU nanotech, evaluated the projects, and chose our group as winner of the competition!

It was a great experience cause it helped us to realize that we need to communicate our ideas in a very different way when we are talking to people who are not experts in the field we want to make business, but they have "the money" for us or just want to help with legal issues. Very constructive experience indeed.
