To 1st semester Master students!

This is the first of a seminar series for Geoscience master students given by the Department of Geosciences and the Science Library. The series run parallel with your master studies over the course of four semesters.

Geoscience Master Seminar 1

for 1st semester master students

The aims of the seminars are to:

  • develop your professional competencies
  • support you in achieving your goals with your master studies
  • inspire and support you in carrying out your research and
  • to meet your peers.

The seminars will include hands-on practices, discussions, invited lecturers, social activities, help desks and more.

Subjects such as literature search, scientific writing and research data management – just to name a few – will be part of these seminars.

Time and place:

November 3, 2020 16:00-18:30
Department of Geosciences AUD 1 and via Zoom (you will receive a link after registering)

The seminar this time will be given once!

You will be able to take part in person or via Zoom. We hope you will be able to attend.

If you have any symptoms, please stay at home and join us via Zoom!

It is important that you sign up for the sessions you are attending since we need to order food and refreshments.

Please, if it’s possible, bring your laptop.

Program:

16:00 – 16:10: Welcome and introduction to the seminar

16.10 – 17.00: Research Data Management Plan with hands-on practices

17.00 – 17.15: Questions and answers

17.15 – 17.30: Break with food and refreshments (provided by the Department of Geosciences)

17.30 – 18:15: Find, Evaluate, Use and Cite: the why, where and how of scientific literature in your master studies including hands-on practices

18.15 – 18.30: Questions and answers
