Theoretical models can provide fundamental insights on the substrate activation by metals as well as on the interactions between the different catalysts. This will allow the deciphering at the atomic level of the preferential pathways leading to different reaction products.

MSc. Lluís Artús Suàrez at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is defending the thesis «Computational study on the deaminative hydrogenation of amides catalyzed by base metal complexes» for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor.
Msc. Jon Austad at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is defending the thesis «Theoretical Investigations of Molecular Electronic Structure in a Magnetic Field » for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor.
On September 2 – 4 2020, the Faraday Discussion "New Horizons in Density Functional Theory" was held as an online event, chaired by Hylleraas Adjunct Professor Andy Teale and sponsored by the Hylleraas Centre. The Faraday Discussion, which was originally planned as a physical meeting at the University of Cambridge, attracted nearly 200 participants.
The annual Hylleraas Spring Meeting is organized by the Oslo node at the Sundvolden Hotel. Due to the corona virus pandemic, the dates have been changed to August 10 to 12.
