The Growth House at University of Oslo is managing a new collaborative project which will strengthen the student innovation culture in the Oslo region. The project has been granted support from Innovation Norway. The goal is to establish more start-ups and contribute to value creation. OsloMet, BI, Kristiania, the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and Startuplab are collaborators.

This year's iGEM team from the University of Oslo has won the silver medal in the international final in Paris. The student team has worked on a new rapid test to diagnose endometriosis.

Nils Chr. Stenseth, Professor at CEES at IBV and former CEES Chair has, together with his co-PIs, been awarded an ERC Synergy Grant funded by the Horizon Europe (HORIZON) programme.

This summer 48 students have gained work experience from a research project with a scholarship from UiO:Life Science. The closure of this year's summer projects was celebrated with presentations, poster exhibition and prize ceremony.

A record number of 63 applications were submitted when UiO advertised the innovation funds this year. 23 projects have been granted funding from the rector's office to develop solutions to meet societal needs. We congratulate all the research groups.

Students can apply for up to NOK 25 000 for their innovation projects from the new fund the Students Entrepreneurship Fund in Oslo (SEFiO). The University of Oslo is a member of SEFiO through the UiO Growth House.

Companies that want to offer summer jobs through the internship programme supported by the UiO Growth House, can now sign up to attend in 2024. We hope to offer as many students as possible a summer job through the programme. Companies with fewer than ten employees can apply for co-funding of positions.
