Bakgrunn

Min hovedstilling er som leder av Avdeling for hav og is, Forsknings- og utviklingsdivisjonen, Meteorologisk institutt, der jeg jobber med dynamiske prossesser i øvre del av havet. Meteorologisk institutt har et nasjonalt ansvar for operasjonelle prognosemodeller for havbølger, havstrømmer og sjøis. Prognosene benyttes blant annet i beredskapssammenheng ved f.eks. oljeutslipp og søk-og-redningsoperasjoner.
