Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is the version of Linux offered at the department. The Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) base is the only Linux platform supported by UiO and it provides UiO and the department of mathematics a unified platform between computing nodes, the Abel Cluster, servers, and desktop clients.

Audio-visual equipment

Slow network / Slow computer

After the transition to IP telephony we have had a few situations where the machines behind the phones have been slow. Often the problem is the phone itself and resetting the phone usually helps. At other times, using webmail towards mail.uio.no causes problems.
