Research projects and/or fields of interest
Over the years, I have held various roles at the department, most recently serving as Head of Education for the past four years. Prior to that, I was the program leader for the Informatics: Design, Use, Interaction program at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. Starting in January, I will return full-time to my position as an associate professor to focus more on research, but I remain committed to contributing to the department’s broader initiatives by leading the program committee for the upcoming launch of the Digitalization certificate. Previously, I was elected twice to the department board as a representative for temporary employees during my time as a PhD student.
Since I began lecturing in 2010, I have taught 12 different courses, including IN1050, IN3250, and IN5120/IN9120, and supervised over 50 master’s students to completion. I am currently involved in the supervision of six PhD students.
As a member of the Design of Information Systems research group, my research focuses on applying Participatory Design to support the inclusive development of welfare technologies, emphasizing sustaining long-term collaborations. Recently, I have been involved in a project exploring the use of Generative AI to enhance the design and development of inclusive processes and services.
Aspirations and priorities for this role
I have gained a solid understanding of our department's identity and role, along with getting to know many of the people who work here. I aim to bring this familiarity into strategic discussions and decisions within the department board. I think we have important work ahead of us to ensure that IFI remains visible and recognized and that we can attract talented researchers and lecturers nationally and internationally. Informatics will remain central to societal discussions, and I hope to contribute with important perspectives on behalf of the Digitalization section on how we can continue engaging with academic and public agendas in the years ahead.
I prioritize fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment that sustainably delivers high-quality teaching and impactful research. This includes encouraging internal collaboration and strengthening connections with external fields and institutions. I also highly value creating arenas where our scientific staff can engage socially and professionally.
