Sustainability is part of our educational strategy
The world faces a number of challenges where we as a university can be part of the solution. Most of the subjects we teach at the MN faculty are relevant to sustainable development, and for many of our students this is an important part of their motivation.
In the strategy of the University of Oslo, it is stated that UiO should educate students with the knowledge, ability and willingness to create a better world. Education for sustainability is about how we can give our students precisely this competence.
Key competencies for sustainability
A useful framework for us who teaches at the MN faculty is UNESCO's Key competencies for sustainability. These are related to what we often call generic skills, which are relevant across subjects.
