UiO:Life Science will fund six new convergence environments - interdisciplinary research groups that address major challenges within health and environment. The application round began last year and now the deadline for submitting a full application is approaching.
This spring, new members will be elected to the University of Oslo's board. A total of four employee representatives will have a very important influence on the strategy and direction of the University of Oslo over the next four years. You can meet them at a digital election meeting on 2 June.

UiO:Life Science does not offer its own courses or study programs in life sciences, but wants to contribute to providing the students with the best possible educational programs. Departments and faculties can now apply for support to develop interdisciplinary bachelor courses in life sciences. The application deadline is 1 April.
The faculties can plan for physical teaching for up to 20 people, and student pubs and basements for reopening, as of Monday 1 March.

The application results for the RCN calls for "Researcher Project for Scientific Renewal" and "Collaborative Project to meet Societal and Industry-related Challenges" have been announced. Yesterday, CBA leader Dag O. Hessen won two awards in the major literature award, Brageprisen.
The Research Council has announced that the innovation award goes to founder and scientific director Agnete Fredriksen in Vaccibody.
The student team representing the University of Oslo at the iGEM annual synthetic biology competition, has presented their project “Sal. coli”. It is the only team from Norway this year, consisting of: Alexander Refsnes-Petkovic, Jonas Aouay Grønbakken and Martin Eide.

The Nordic network of imaging platforms, Bridging Nordic Microscopy Infrastructures BNMI, has been awarded NOK 2.5 million from NordForsk. The Norwegian coordinating node in this network is NorMIC Oslo, an infrastructure at the Department of Biosciences, UiO.
