The research groups at the Department of Informatics will present themselves, their research and available research projects for new Master's students. 

Ph.d.-kandidat Marija Plahter Rosenqvist ved Institutt for geofag, Det matematisk-naturvitenskapelige fakultet, vil forsvare avhandlingen Multiscale flow pathways in basalts of the North Atlantic Igneous Province for graden Philosophiae Doctor.

Magnus Andreassen will defend his thesis “Pulsed Laser Deposition of Sesquioxide Thin Films for Combinatorial Materials Science” for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Jubileumsarrangementet er avlyst grunnet Hans Majestet Kong Haralds bortgang. Vi mener det er riktig å gjennomføre arrangementet under andre omstendigheter.

I forbindelse med H.M. Kongens bortgang er statlige virksomheter bedt av regjeringen om å avlyse eller utsette sosiale arrangementer.

Aker Scholarship er et stipend for deg som ønsker å ta en master- eller doktorgrad ved et av verdens ledende universiteter. Stipendet ønsker søkere fra alle fagområder.

Dagens tema er: Bruk av KI-verktøy i følge UiOs reglement, kildekritikk og litteratursøk. Seminaret er obligatorisk for alle førsteårsstudenter som følger bachelorprogrammene Fornybar energi og nanoteknologi og Kjemi og biokjemi.

Første seminar om KI i skolen for påmeldte deltakere i Oslo kommune og Akershus fylkeskommune har som tema: "Hva trenger lærerne å kunne om KI?"

Nadia S. Larsen tildeles pris fra Professor Ingerid Dal og søster Ulrikke Greve Dals legat for fremragende arbeid innen teoretisk matematikk.

PDE seminar by Konstantina Trivisa (University of Maryland)

Doctoral candidate Erina Prastyani at the Department of Geosciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is defending the thesis 4D Imaging of Brittle to Semi-ductile Deformation in Crystalline Rock for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor.

Doctoral candidate Asmar Muqeet at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is defending the thesis Noise-Aware Quantum Software Testing: From Mitigating Noise to Fully Integrating Noise in Testing for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor.

Gaute Arnesson Holen will defend his thesis “Plasma-object interaction in plasma environments; Numerical studies of spacecraft charging, probe accuracy and complex plasma.” for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Vinnerene av Kavliprisen 2026 vil holde foredrag om forskningen deres innen «twistronics». 

The Hylleraas Annual Meeting 2026 will be held at Losby Gods hotel on Aug 31st until Sep 2nd.

There will be two speakers during this seminar. Juliane is a PhD student at ISTerre and Christoffer is a Senior Communications Adviser at UiO.
