Late Lunch Talk by Hendrik Bartolomaeus (University Hospital Würzburg)
As the world transitions toward a less carbon-intensive and more electrified energy system, demand for copper and other critical minerals is expected to far outstrip current supply. One proposed solution is to mine polymetallic nodules found on the abyssal plains of the ocean floor.

The main goal of the Conservation Bioacoustics Forum is to begin a conversation among Nordic bioacoustics researchers, as well as with folks interested in incorporating bioacoustics into their research. We envision the Forum as a first step towards building a community of bioacoustics researchers who wish to make conservation impact in Norway and the Nordics. We also welcome researchers/engineers with skills in data science/AI, signal processing, acoustics, or related fields who are interested in collaboration with ecology/conservation researchers.
