Using electricity to make chemical bonds is a great way of storing green energy, for example when renewables produce more energy than currently in demand. With the help of solid catalysts based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), abundant small molecules can be either electrocatalytically reduced to larger compounds with higher energy content [1] or oxidised in a controlled way, avoiding overoxidation [2]. Examples of such reactions include ii) reducing CO2 with H2 to produce small hydrocarbons such as methanol or ii) oxidising CH4 from biogas with O2 to produce methanol.

Successful combination of Methanol synthesis catalyst and Methanol to olefin in CO2 hydrogenation to olefin have seen great interest lately. However, such system, despite great stability, still face some challenge such as the activity of the oxide phase. For that this project will be focused on the development of active oxide and their Structure-activity relationship.

The climate emergency and dwindling raw materials on account of anthropogenic activities require a more efficient use of resources by both

i) using environmental harmful or waste materials, e.g. CO2 and CH4, as feedstock as well as

ii) through the design of more efficient, i.e. less energy- and materials intensive, processes for their production

Fast deactivation of zeotype in Methanol to Olefin process has been a long-lasting problem for industrialization. To improve stability of catalytic activity, multiple synthetic strategy have been developed to produce slow deactivation zeotype such as formation of mesopore or introduction of hetero-atoms other than Si (Mg, Co, Zn, Y). This work will focus on preparation of extra-low loading MAPO-18 with various M atoms to be used in methanol to olefin reaction.

Catalytic ammonia oxidation is used in industry to produce nitric acid - one of the most important industrial chemicals critical for fertilizer production. Currently, ammonia is oxidized on PtRh catalysts which are volatile at high temperatures, leading to substantial losses of these very expensive metals.
