On 5-7 July 2016, there will be a conference on the mathematics of energy markets organized at the Wolfgang Pauli Institute (WPI) in Vienna, Austria. The conference is an activity within the thematic program "Mathematics for Risk in Finance and Energy" at the WPI. 

We welcome participants from academia and industry to take part in this event.  

A pre-conference intensive course on stochastic modelling of energy markets will be organized on Monday July 4. The course leader will be Professor Fred Espen Benth. Click here to get more information about the intensive course.

By participating in this intensive course, you will learn about recent developments in the modelling of the random dynamics of forward and futures prices in energy (and commodity) markets. A general theoretical framework for stochastic processes with values in function space is developed, and applied to the particular situation of forward price modelling, yielding a class of space-time random fields.

The course requires a knowledge in stochastic analysis. 

We invite you to a one-day workshop celebrating Professor Bent Natvig's 70th anniversary. Invited speakers will present recent developments in some of the areas where Bent has made significant contributions, including reliability theory and mathematical statistics.

Bent Natvig has, since 1986, been a professor of mathematical statistics at the Department of Mathematics. He is the author of a long list of important papers published in top-ranked scientific journals as well as the recent book entitled "Multistate Systems Reliability Theory with Applications" (John Wiley & Sons). At our department, Bent has taken the leading role in the area of reliability theory. On August 1 this year, he turns 70.

The conference "Quantum groups: geometry, representations, and beyond" will take place on May 9-14, 2016.

The issue of power in PD has recently drawn some interest and our workshop at the Aarhus conference 2015 aims to expand the power discussion to a big and largely unexamined question in PD: how can users possibly collaborate in the design of an artifact?

The statistics groups at the University of Oslo and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences invite all PhD-students and postdocs within statistics in the Oslo-region as well as their teachers and supervisors to a  2-days workshop.

Fourteenth International Workshop

Welcome to the SECOND conference on Stochastics of Environmental and Financial Economics. The conference will bring together leading researchers in the fields of stochastic analysis and finance to discuss recent developments and challenges with an edge towards energy, environmental and financial markets.

The conference is also a celebration of professor Bernt Øksendal's 70th anniversary. On Thursday April 23 the program of the conference will mark this big event with a selected list of speakers.

Welcome to the Abel Symposium 2014 in Lofoten. The symposium will bring researchers together to discuss statistical analysis for high-dimensional data.

[This is a closed event by invitation only, but a proceedings will be published by Springer (linked here).]

The symposium is a follow-up of two highly successful previous symposia, held 14-15 October 2008 in the Norwegian Academy in Oslo and 1-2 November 2010 in RSE in Edinburgh. Topics of this year's symposium include: internal waves, ocean surface waves and tsunamis reflecting the activities in the current research projects of the Norwegian and Scottish groups.

The International Conference on Field Programmable Logic and Applications (FPL) is taking place at IFI 29-31 August 2012. This is a large international scientific conference where the ROBIN group is the local organiser. About 230 attendees are expected. Feel free to register and attend. Workshops/tutorials before and after are free to attend (except SRCS) but registration is needed.
