The Department of Geosciences at the University of Oslo (UiO) is organised in seven different sections and an administrative unit. We also participate in the two interdisciplinary research centers CBA and Njord, UiO. The management of the department is carried out by the Head of Department and the Department Board.

The staff consists of 40 professors and associate professors, in addition to postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, researchers, technical- and administrative staff. The Department has more than 200 employees. The Department has 90 candidates on the PhD program and over 230 students on our bachelor's and master's programmes within geosciences.
