The hybrid 6th Conference on Modelling Hydrology, Climate and Land Surface Processes was co-organised by EMERALD this time. Many researchers from the EMERALD community presented their work at the conference, both in person at Lillehammer hotel and remotely on Zoom.

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2021 online brings together geoscientists from all over the world to a conference covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary and space sciences. Den 14. juli var EMERALD-forsker Anders Bryn ved Naturhistorisk museum med som guide på tur med Klima- og Miljøminister Sveinung Rotevatn (V). Norsk Fjellsenter i Lom arrangerte tur til istunnelen ved Juvasshytta, i Dumdalsgrottene og på Sognefjellet. På kvelden var det middag og omvisning i utstillingene ved Norsk Fjellsenter - inkludert den nye utstillingen Natur i endring fra EMERALD.

Koronakrisen har vist hvor raskt vi mennesker kan reagere på trusler. I sin kronikk etterlyser UiO-forskerne Bryn/Hessen/Stordal nå en snuoperasjon for den negative spiralen for klima og naturen. Les kronikken på trykk i Klassekampen, 11. mai.

PhD Day is an annual event organized each year by the UiO Science Library, in collaboration with the MN-faculty. There are scheduled lectures, and a poster session in which fellows at the faculty are invited to participate. This year Marius Lambert, Department of Geosciences won the award for the best poster. The competition was fierce.

PhD Day arrangeres hvert år av Realfagsbiblioteket: UiO i samarbeid med MN-fakultetet med ma foredrag, og postersesjon der stipendiater ved fakultetet deltar. I år vart det Marius Lambert, Institutt for geofag, som stakk av med prisen for beste poster PhD Day 2019. Konkurransen var skarp.
