Faglige interesser

Min forskning omhandler jordens atmosfære, med et særlig fokus på effekten av aerosol partikler og skyer på klimasystemet. Jeg er spesielt interessert i hvordan ulike typer partikler kan påvirke klimaet avhengig av deres evne til å danne skydråper eller iskrystaller. En annen interesse er skyers rolle i tilbakekoplings-mekanismer i klimasystemet, på klimafølsomhet, på økonomiske konsekvenser av klimaendringer, og på ulike typer såkalt ”klimafiksing” som involverer aerosoler og/eller skyer. Klima-effektene av aerosoler og skyer er fortsatt svært usikre, og representerer en av de største hindringene for målet om å simulere fremtidige klimaendringer med størst mulig presisjon.
